It is hard to concentrate on recovery, employment, family, or a new future while worrying about the next meal. Reliable access to excellent food reduces pressure, improves well-being, and communicates something important: people rebuilding their lives deserve quality, choice, and dignity—not an afterthought.
01How it works
The Recovery Community Food Bank works with the San Diego Food Bank, Boar’s Head, and a growing network of food institutions, bakeries, cafés, markets, restaurants, and community partners. CMF coordinates donations and recurring pickups, then sorts and distributes food through recovery homes and community connections so it reaches people efficiently.
02What to expect
Every month, we now serve more than 100 families—and the number continues to grow. Our standard is food people are happy to bring home and proud to serve: fresh produce, quality proteins, prepared foods, pantry staples, bakery items, and household essentials whenever available. Support is provided in a welcoming, respectful way.
